Description
The sapwood is citrine yellow and the heartwood is brownish to greenish gray, with a coarse texture and variable grain, often interwoven, with a density between 0.35 and 0.63. The mechanical strength ranges from medium to modest.
Plant morphology
A large tree, up to 60 meters tall, with a columnar trunk, sometimes forked and branching from the base. The leaves are glossy green on the upper surface and whitish on the underside. The flowers have a corolla of six white petals and numerous stamens. The fruit is a small, rounded capsule resembling an orange.
